- Intend to get married within 90 days of your partner’s arrival in the US
- Be unmarried
- Be at least 18
- Not be blood-related to your partner
- Have met your partner in person at least once in the two years prior
Immigration authorities must also receive evidence that your marriage will be bona fide. Evidence can include correspondence, proof of travel with your fiancé, and supporting statements from family and friends.
A fiancé visa is a pathway to permanent residency. After marriage, your spouse can apply for a green card.
